Job Description Summary
GE Aerospace is the world's largest provider of jet engines. At Batesville Composites Operations we manufacture Polymer Matrix Composites, which are a lightweight alternative to conventional manufactured metals. We are also the second GE shop in the world to manufacture Ceramic Matrix Composites, which are some of the most advanced composites technology in existence, providing both weight and thermal advantages for an engines core. Not only do we manufacture parts from raw materials but also procure over 2000 piece parts and components to perform jet engine assembly on the fan stator module, which makes up 50% of a commercial jet engine.
The Front Line Leader will perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations. This is a first shift role with the hours of 7:00a - 3:30p.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing/production experience
Desired Characteristics
- Minimum 1 year leadership experience
- Hands on manufacturing experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
