Our Jacksonville, FL team is looking to hire an Equipment Technician to assist with repairs and preventative maintenance on electro-mechanical equipment in a clean and temperature-controlled facility. You will receive training to achieve necessary skills on required processes that will set you up for success and ensure that you are working at required quality levels. You will also work with teams to identify and implement process improvement opportunities resulting in improved quality and product flow.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluating and/or creating equipment calibration procedures and perform electro-mechanical equipment calibrations
  • Program, troubleshoot and operate oven controllers and assist in programming and troubleshooting and repair PLC and other electronic controllers for production processes and ATP testing
  • Create sketches or drawings that document custom in-house equipment and interpret specification and equipment limitations
  • Ability to select materials and apply various specialty tools such as custom in house-built test boxes and fixtures
  • Ability to set up drill presses, band saws, hand grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts using a variety of materials
  • Coordinates with outside vendors for various services and provide support to all departments for equipment and maintenance related issues
  • Installs and sets up equipment in designated locations and assist in major overhaul of equipment
  • Maintain electro-mechanical equipment by following manufacturer's instructions or standard techniques.
  • Maintain inventory of spare and replacement parts
  • Assist engineers in modification or fabrication of equipment and in the selection process of new equipment

Skill Level:

  • Basic Microsoft office, written and verbal communication skills, and computer programming knowledge
  • Basic electro-mechanical calibration experience and skills using multiple electronic measuring devices such as the thermocouples, sensors, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes
  • Basic electrical experience including 208/120, 240, & 480 high voltages and low voltages
  • Basic troubleshooting skills

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

Desired Characteristics:

  • 3 Years of experience repairing electro-mechanical and electronic equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic creation and interpretation skills for blueprints, schematics, specifications, and instructions for plant equipment, etc. and mechanical skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum systems, thermal systems, and PLC controlled equipment.
  • Ability to work with voltages including 40 kV and higher
  • Prior machine shop experience with hand tools
  • Work extended and flexible hours as needed to support business needs including working weekends or various shifts
