This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates.
Job Description
GE Aerospace is looking for a Configuration Management Software Specialist to enhance configuration and data management within engineering design and product development. In this role, you will be responsible for managing site-based configuration and engineering change/data management activities throughout the change request cycle.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the review, preparation, delivery, and verification of data, documentation, and engineering changes in accordance with documented procedures and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and facilitate necessary communications to complete assigned tasks.
- Participate in Configuration Boards and associated reviews to assess the impact of proposed engineering data releases and changes.
- Engage in configuration and artifact-related activities, including executing and verifying change tasks, assigning numbers, supporting parts lists, gathering data for reports, preparing and analyzing documentation, and utilizing portals and tools as needed.
- Follow configuration-related procedures and policies throughout the program/product lifecycle.
- Contribute to configuration control activities for related projects and productivity initiatives.
- Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in configuration, data, and export control.
- Utilize experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
- Perform a variety of complex tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma/GED with at least 3+ years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Desired Characteristics:
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Advanced proficiency in PC operations.
- Hands-on experience with Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) or similar enterprise data management tools.
- Background in a military or aviation engineering environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
