As a Combustor Aero Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for combustor aero design development. In this role you will have an opportunity to lead the development efforts in new technology projects for jet engine and gas turbine application. In this role you will work as a member of international team and utilize your technical experience and expertise to identify problems, find solutions and demonstrate combustor aero design and analytical skills.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute combustion aero design in assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, as well as product/program requirements.
  • Perform advanced modeling and simulations for combustion aerodynamics, including high-fidelity CFD analyses
  • Design and execute experimental test campaigns focused on combustor chamber
  • Execute projects while managing program schedule and financial work scope to meet business needs
  • Perform trade studies to define and optimize system design within project constraints
  • Provide technical leadership & guidance to personnel supporting assigned projects
  • Share technical knowledge within the group and across the organization
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Monitor and communicate project status internally and externally for related activities
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency with core technical tools, methods and concepts

Required Qualifications

  • MSc/BSc in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Established knowledge in fluid dynamics, gas turbine and jet engine combustion
  • Experience with combustion modeling methods and numerical simulation using commercial software (e.g., Fluent, CFX, OpenFoam, StarCCM) and CAD software (e.g., NX, Solid Works, CATIA)
  • Strong experience in an Engineering position
  • Teamwork and self-reliance in assigned tasks
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Effective communication within all levels of the organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Due to export control work type, applications of EU or US citizenship are required

Desired Characteristics

  • Established project management experience
  • Willingness to learn and expand competences
  • Programing and scripting in Python/Bash will be an additional advantage
  • Hydrogen combustion experience
