Essential Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Layouts: Follow manufacturing layouts, engineering prints, specifications, route sheets, and general instructions to ensure quality build of mica paper capacitor sections.
- Mica Paper Room: Distinguish paper type, foil type, and tabs needed for the job in the mica paper room and prep area.
- Paper Grading Machine: Measure thickness and grade of mica paper using the paper grading machine.
- Hand Tools: Use a wide variety of hand tools.
- Documentation: Accurately document all work performed, including blue history cards, red quality action cards, tear down sheets, route sheets, and other log sheets.
- Dry Capacitance Testing: Perform dry capacitance tests by heating/drying the first piece, mechanically pressing to correct dimensions, and using electronic test equipment to verify capacitance readings within spec.
- Equipment Adjustment: Adjust equipment setup as necessary to achieve nominal capacitance readings.
- Tear Down: Ensure correct dimensions, including length, tab spacing, and correct mica paper and foil during tear down.
- Production Winding: Set up, tear down, troubleshoot, and perform production winding on various manual and automated winding machines to ensure efficient workflow of capacitor sections.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Desired Characteristics:
- Skills and Experience: Basic written and verbal communication skills, mechanical skills, computer skills, ERP skills, and experience using a wide variety of hand tools.
- Dimensional Inspection: Experience in dimensional inspection and the ability to read and interpret measurements using tools like calipers and scales.
- Manufacturing and Team Environment: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment performing repetitive tasks, and experience working in a team setting that employs lean and 5S practices to improve products and processes.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
