Job Description Summary

Responsible for coordinating the flow of aircraft engine parts and related documents in support of GE Aviation Materials. These responsibilities include all shipping, receiving, stocking, physical inventory and proper disposal of aircraft engine parts and related documents. Focusing more on the shipping and logistics duties, but able to flex in all areas of warehouse responsibilties when needed.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Verify that all incoming and outgoing parts/ materials/ components comply with ISO 9001 International Standard, the Aviation Suppliers Association Quality System Standard ASA-100,
  • Coordinate transportation services with carriers to execute shipments as needed
  • Provide subject matter expertise to internal colleagues seeking support with logistics matters, shipping, exporting and importing processes
  • Ensure the use of discount, strategic, and contracted transportation carriers are being utilized the most economical and effective way
  • Generate and record waybill information while utilizing common carriers shipping systems
  • Completes Commercial / Pro Forma invoicing process for domestic and international shipments
  • Assist in the loading / unloading and packaging / unpacking of outgoing / incoming shipments
  • Visually examine materials and accompanying paperwork for defects and sorts articles according to extent of defect. Accurately identify part numbers, serial numbers, and quantities and assure all match the accompanying paperwork.
  • Attach identification data onto article, and inputs required part history / part data into the local database.
  • Record factors causing materials to be rejected. Certify that all required documentation is with the received order or shipped order.
  • Perform receiving of all inbound materials and attached documents
  • Communicate order receiving discrepancies to the appropriate Buyer/Repair Coordinator for proper resolution
  • Ensure parts are stored accordingly to prevent damage and contamination
  • Perform physical inventory audits, updating inventory records and isolating defects.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state and federal health and safety requirements. Comply with all internal policies and procedures identified by GE Aviation.
  • Use various powered equipment to complete the necessary task, such as sit down forklift, man up forklift, order picker, pallet jack
  • Maintain clean work environment
  • Team member of at least one Safety committee
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift materials up to 50lbs

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience as a material handler preferably in the aviation industry
  • In depth understanding of the logistics industry and associated technology
  • Self-starter with ability to build a vision and execute
  • Strong interpersonal and influential skills
  • Clear thinking and solid prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management ability
  • Uncompromising attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Effective in high volume transactions and data input
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Clear thinking and solid prioritization skills
  • Strong problem solving skillset
  • First Aid and/or First Responder experience
