Job Description
Job Description: As a Lead Engineer - Mechanical Component, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing avionics products that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will utilize your technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and lean mindset to drive key business objectives and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical design, interconnect evaluations, component selection, and tolerance stack-up analysis for avionics products.
- Create detailed mechanical models, drawings, and bills of material.
- Conduct thermal, stress, and vibration analyses to ensure product compliance with environmental and operational requirements, and provide technical reports.
- Lead design and work-product reviews, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and design architectural trade studies.
- Provide technical support to the production factory for root cause investigations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance department efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.

Desired Characteristics:
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in packaging design for electronics assemblies.
- Working knowledge of Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
- Proficiency in model and drawing creation using Siemens NX.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management systems (PTC Windchill).
- Experience in vibration and thermal analysis using FEA tools.
- Knowledge of aerospace standards, materials, and processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement mindset.
