Sr Internal Communications Specialist

Prague, Czech Republic

The Senior Internal Communications Specialist is accountable for providing support and the tools to our sites to ensure critical business information and global initiatives are timely and consistently disseminated / implemented globally. This role works closely with the rest of the internal communications and employee engagement team and manages the network (Site Communications Network) to implement global initiatives. Key responsibilities also include the support in organizing major internal events such as the yearly Garrett Senior Leadership Meeting (GSLM).

This position also acts as Communications functional business partner for Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Legal, Aftermarket and HR, providing communications strategic guidance and support for functions' projects / announcements and major initiatives.

Key Job Areas and Responsibilities:

Sites Communications

  • Lead the Site Communications Network and ensure smooth implementation of global initiatives (such as STEM Month, etc); support with development of related materials, reporting tool and metrics.
  • Identify, promote and give visibility to local activities producing news stories.
  • Is accountable for the adherence to the branding guidelines on all sites.
  • Develop new visuals in alignment with business needs & validate all internal branding.
  • Track local activities and own reporting.

Internal events

  • Support in all aspects of the Garrett Senior Leadership Meeting (GSLM) yearly meeting (venue, activities, tools, materials, etc)
  • Support and act as Director's back up for quarterly Town Halls.

Communications Business Partner

  • Act as business partners for HR, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Legal and Aftermarket. Upon functional needs and requests (reorganizations, special initiatives, etc) understand needs, develop communications plan; support with related organization announcements.
  • Own the global organization announcement protocol and ensure its adherence, working closely with HR.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, HR or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of expertise at other similar companies with a communications job with similar types of global responsibilities.
  • Experience in organizing internal or external events.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams in a similar global organization.
  • Experience working in a factory environment with blue collars is a plus.

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build teamwork and trust at all levels in a global environment.
  • Excellent communications & leadership skills.
  • Excellent copy writing skills, with proven capacity to adapt copy to target audience.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • An excellent eye for detail, rigorous.
