Position Summary

Responsible for end to end development and flauless launch of new applications as an development engineering team. Direct communication window to customer engineering team. Be a part of international cross-functional team.
Performs full range of technical work including assignments requiring special qualifications / attainments.

Key Responsibility

2.1

• Define customer targets and transfer to application needs with respect to performance, functionality, reliability and cost.
• Run turbo matching simulation to define appropriate aero design and turbo model.
• Work with CAD designer for turbo package design respecting customer's interface and constraints.
• Submit Deco for drawing creation of respective components and turbo.

• Create BOM (Bill of Materials) and submit PRP to request building prototype hardware.
• Execute reliability risk assessment process including FMEA document and establishing mitigation action plans.
• Document TTO (Turbocharger Technical Offer) with gap analysis between customer needs in SOR and product limits for new bids and new quotes at customers for NPI and new applications.
• Establish DVP (Design Verification Plan) and drive activity internally and externally in compliance to project milestone and phase exit criteria.

2.2

• Execute PTA activity related to development work.
• Analyze validation results, generate technical reports and review internally and externally.
• Present in Pre-ERR and ERR for review of validation results, status of risk mitigations, necessity of baseline management and prepare release letter if some risks still remain.
• Work with internal manufacturing team and external suppliers to develop the design and processes to meet quality target and cost.
• Responsible for technical and design APQP matters. Work with internal teams and supplier and define conclusive design.
• Reflection of Lessons & Learned from past development and field issue ecperiences.
• Submit ECR for production release of respective drawings of components and turbo.
• Initiate or update QCI and PI specifications as necessary to ensure products are inspected and made with procedures ensuring proper product function.

2.3

• Document TRA, submit to customer and receive signed document as officail release agreement and development completion.
• Work on field or manufacturing issues resolution using six sigma tools, documented by appropriate tools.
• Generate VE ideas contributing to cost resulction of the product in terms of design, materials and processes.
• Work in close collaboration with PM, sales, NPI and ISC within the project team.
• Use technical capability and significant problem analysis to establish effective solution for complex problems.
• Apply and develop advanced methodologies and technologies requiring high degree of technical innovation.
• Provide technical insight to analyze risks and opportunities and adjust plans to minimize risk and maximize opportunity.
• In-depth knowledge of several divisions, including products, customers and contacts.
• Help organize and actively participate in department and division functions.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Eng., Combustions Engines or Transportation systems and/or equivalent.

Experience

• Mechanical Engineer with good knowledge about internal combustion engine (Diesel and Gasoline).
• Experience in driving design optimisation process and validation principal for automotive industry.
• 5 to 10 yeas' experience with automotive industry and engine component development.

Key Skills and Knowledge

• Proactive and open mindset to work internally and externally.
• Six sigma green belt certified or rapidly trained and certified.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical design, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, turbomachinery and engineering processes.
• Project management skill.
• English writing and speaking.
