The Acquisition Team is dedicated to supporting the department's goals of driving aggressive digital subscription growth and optimizing channel strategy to sustain the print subscription base. This team is responsible for driving all subscription types (print and digital) for 200+ local Gannett markets and USA Today. This team owns and manages the acquisition affiliate strategy and collaborates with key internal departments such as Marketing Operations, Product, Analytics, and Brand to help build strategies to drive subscription conversion.

We are looking for a results-driven Growth Marketing Manager - Affiliate to lead the development and execution of affiliate marketing strategies. Reporting directly to the Senior Growth Manager, Performance Partnerships, this role will focus on building and managing the affiliate marketing calendar, nurturing key affiliate partner relationships, coordinating creative assets, contributing to routine reporting, and working closely with vendors to ensure seamless campaign execution.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for testing and learning. The candidate should possess a deep understanding of affiliate marketing best practices, along with the ability to work hands-on in planning, evaluating, and optimizing affiliate partnerships. This role requires a focus on both immediate deliverables and long-term growth goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Monitor, analyze, and report on affiliate performance metrics, identifying areas of improvement to maximize ROI


  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the broader marketing, data analytics, and product teams to align affiliate efforts with overall business strategies and objectives


  • Creative Asset Development: Work with the creative and marketing operations teams to develop promotional materials, banners, and landing pages tailored to affiliate needs


  • Affiliate Program Optimization: Continuously refine the affiliate program to improve performance-testing different promotional offers, creatives, and commission structures


  • Affiliate Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing affiliates, providing ongoing support, feedback, and resources to enhance their success


  • Recruitment of New Affiliate Partners: Identify, recruit, and onboard new affiliate partners to expand the affiliate network and diversify volume streams


  • Compliance and Fraud Prevention: Ensure affiliates adhere to legal requirements, company policies, and ethical standards, and monitor for misuse


  • Industry Trend Monitoring: Stay up to date with affiliate marketing trends, tools, and competitor activity to inform strategy and keep the program innovative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field


  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in affiliate marketing


  • Proactive communicator with all members of internal and external teams


  • Proficiency with major affiliate platforms (e.g., Impact, Rakuten, ShareASale)


  • Ability to analyze data and turn it into actionable insights and recommendations


  • Experience managing multiple campaigns, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Asana


  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau)


  • Experience managing and optimizing affiliatemarketing budgets


  • Experience in developing, launching, and optimizing affiliate marketing campaigns within a subscription-based business model

*This is a 100% remote position, with a preference for candidates based in or able to work within the Eastern Time Zone.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $65,000 and $80,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
