Position Overview:

Freddie Mac has an exciting opportunity to add a Development Professional to our existing quality engineering team. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for critical, technical problem solving and prior experience working in an automation practice/COE and/or the delivery of multiple small/large test automation efforts.

We are seeking a motivated individual who will take ownership of initiatives and provide insight, knowledge, and guidance to a focused workgroup in driving execution of testing frameworks across various projects. As a member of the team, this individual will possess automation, script development, reporting skills and champion technology/tools that improve processes and provide operational efficiency while working alongside of highly collaborative, open minded, technology savvy members.

  • Provide quality system admin and operations support for quality engineering tools (ALM, Katalon, SauceLabs, Mountebank) supported by the team.
  • Manage upgrades, patches, on-premises infrastructure, availability, performance, and vulnerability remediations of various Quality engineering tools.
  • Provide proactive guidance, comprehensive documentation, and continual assessment of test automation delivery across projects.
  • Develop automated scripts using Java/JavaScript, Python, or REST API to automate system admin functions and develop home grown utilities, tools, and integrations.
  • Establish, manage, and report on key quality metrics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, networking and influencing skills are essential to collaborate with project members and stakeholders.
  • Enable technical transformation for teams moving from a manual testing approach to automation.
  • Work closely with developers, quality engineers, business, and vendor partners to drive and promote and enable quality engineering processes.
  • Drive the team to become more adaptable in quality assurance through test automation, and Continuous Testing practices.
  • Knowledge in developing synthetic test data harnesses and experience in designing a test data approach.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions on the Tools and its processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical and user-facing documentation and standard operating procedures and guides.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will be able to execute Quality Engineering Center of Excellence duties like exploring the latest testing solutions, understanding testing maturity within teams, addressing testing challenges, coaching developers on testing and test automation, administering and managing tools, and improving overall test maturity of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience including building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • College Degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience; work towards advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with test automation concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience in working with test automation delivery and/or practice.
  • Experience with understanding automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, Katalon etc.
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations in a professional environment.
  • Strong programming skills required (preferably Java, JavaScript/ Typescript) - Solid grasp of object-oriented programming, databases, development, and testing methodologies.
  • Expertise in working with DevOps implementation and good knowledge of CI tool Jenkins.
  • Experience working as part of a successful Agile/SCRUM team delivering test automation.
  • Experience developing and testing Microservice architecture including REST API tools and coding.
  • Experience in using either Cloud provider (AWS) or Container (Docker, Kubernetes) for test execution purposes.
  • Full stack app development skills experience is a plus.
  • Strong desire to learn new concepts and build to tools to infuse quality and enable faster delivery.
  • Knowledge of Jira Issue and defect management
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $94,000 - $140,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
