The Vehicle Software Platform group is responsible for the software platform that enables connectivity and advanced application features within next generation Ford vehicles. The team is designing and building the next generation software platform for the FNV4 vehicle architecture structured around high-performance compute clusters and zonal aggregators.

Working as a member of this software team, you will be involved in cutting edge embedded software development, working on system components that either provide enabling frameworks or additional functional services above the operating system services and drivers.

In this role you will be involved with the design, implementation, testing, optimization and maintenance of software components. You will work as part of a high performing development team and will be encouraged to contribute ideas and solutions as part of your daily work. Development is in C++ and follows an agile methodology. This position will provide you with the unique opportunity to gain experience with developing cutting edge software and services with an industry leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing product requirements and evaluating potential technical solutions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with teams to design and implement efficient and cost-effective software solutions that span multiple domains.
  • Design, implementation and testing of software components using C++.
  • Documenting and validating software designs.
  • Bug fixing and maintenance.


QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study
  • 4+ years of experience developing solutions for automated software tests, functional and unit testing; tooling and integration.
  • Experienced at programming in Python, Bash shell scripting and using CMake for complex build configurations.
  • Programming experience with C or C++

Our preferred requirements:

  • A master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in testing in an automotive environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes.
  • Experience using JIRA.
  • Experience in testing embedded systems is strongly preferred.
  • Independent worker, self-motivated to find creative solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software functional and integration issues.
  • Methodical; capable of prioritizing work and working to tight deadlines.
  • An excellent communicator, both oral and written.
