Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Quality Technician located in Milpitas, California.
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Technician role involves being in charge of performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs, first article inspections and calibration, inspecting flat blank layouts, out of box audit (OBA) and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials.
What a typical day looks like:
- Conduct audits of processes, test and inspect products, and compile and evaluate statistical data to ensure product quality and reliability.
- Perform complex engineering testing, First Article Inspections, and root cause analysis based on engineering drawings, specifications, and defined plans.
- Interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams, collaborating with management and engineering staff to establish quality and reliability standards.
- Select and audit manufacturing processes, focusing on features such as ESD handling practices, documentation, training, and process integrity.
- Choose products for audits at various production stages, testing for dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic characteristics.
- Record audit data using statistical quality control procedures and evaluate findings to write reports indicating compliance or deviations from standards.
- Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards and maintain calibration records for inspection tools, ensuring compliance with quality assurance protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to speak and understand English.
