DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician to join our team specializing in Quality for our Quality Customer Quality Assurance department in Daventry, United Kingdom.

Working 37.5 hours per week.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supporting the Receiving Department: By assisting receiving with production-related and inspection tasks, you help ensure smooth operations and high-quality output.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring material quality and making necessary adjustments helps maintain the integrity and standards of the production process.
  • Documentation: Maintaining and supporting documentation and records ensures that all processes are well-documented and traceable, which is crucial for quality assurance and audits.
  • Defect Identification: Comparing physical characteristics of components and products to technical specifications helps identify defects early, preventing potential issues down the line.
  • Testing and Reporting: Conducting simple tests and preparing technical reports provides valuable data that informs decision-making and product improvements.
  • Customer Assistance: Assisting customers in understanding product specifications and measurement data helps them make informed decisions and fosters trust in the company's products.
  • Measurement Studies: Participating in measurement uncertainty studies contributes to the accuracy and reliability of measurement and calibration results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of measurement and test equipment keeps the tools in optimal condition, supporting consistent and accurate testing results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Action Orientation: Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Measurement Science - Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, "Metrology" e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.
  • Measurement Science Expertise: Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, "Metrology" e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical.
  • Quality Process Management: - Proficient application of quality tools and methods (e.g. APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, test, etc.) to ensure quality of products, processes and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • Must have good literacy skills and be able to communicate with people.
  • PC literacy, especially in the use of IMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in Diesel and Gas engine fundamentals would be advantageous.
