Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Quality Manager located in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Quality Director the Quality Manager will be maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organization.
What a typical day looks like:
- Effectively lead and manage a team of eight quality engineers and supervisors to ensure the highest standards of product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Researches and presents information on business situations, production capabilities, and economic trends to assist management in decision-making regarding new product development.
- Proposes and discusses alternative methods for problem-solving and adapting to changing market opportunities.
- Collaborates with top management to formulate company policies, operating procedures, and strategic goals.
- Develops and modifies the product assurance program, outlining control areas, personnel needs, and operational procedures.
- Manages customer and regulatory audits, interfaces with customers on technical issues, and reviews departmental procedures to recommend improvements and solutions.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience and training.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of experience developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems or related area.
- Must have direct report leadership experience.
- Possesses advanced functional, technical, and people management skills, along with strong customer relationship abilities, and demonstrates expert knowledge of Flex and its business operations.
- Has comprehensive knowledge of various functional technologies and processes, including regulatory standards, and understands the interdependencies of these processes at the site level.
- Proficient in a wide range of technical skills and tools related to electronic assembly, testing, inspection, machine operations, and office/warehouse tasks, showcasing expertise in complex technical areas and their strategic impact.
