Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Director, Commodity Management Indirect located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the VP, Indirect Procurement, the Director, Commodity Management Indirect will be Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing global/regional strategies for specific Indirect Commodities that will provide Flex's sites with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Responsible for developing and managing indirect material procurement and supply base management strategies and policies.
  • Develop and implement short and long term goals and objectives to reduce spend and optimize supply base.
  • Conduct regular quarterly business reviews with suppliers and negotiations on pricing and terms and conditions.
  • Develop metrics to be used to measure team performance and supplier performance.
  • Guide the selection and development of preferred suppliers enabling Flex segments to meet their cost and performance goals.
  • Manage negotiation team, establishing material pricing agreements with preferred suppliers, to provide Flex with the best value. Meet or exceed published cost reduction goals within agreed-to time frames, establish long-term relationships that benefit all Flex worldwide segments.
  • Assure deployment of commodity strategies and pricing at Flex sites.
  • Internally Market and communicate Commodity strategy and results.
  • Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand trends. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate.
  • Work closely with management to develop team resources to add value to the commodity function with regard to performance management and talent acquisition.
  • Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce
The experience we're looking to add to our team,
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Great negotiations skills
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Indirect Commodities.
  • Experience working with other regions
  • Knowledge of the MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong communication skills
