The Vice President I role, Venture Capital Relationship Management is part of the Investor Coverage and Business Development group in NYC. As trusted advisors, building a supportive ecosystem for the investor community and their portfolio companies is the primary focus of our team. The primary responsibility of the Vice President I role is to assist the management of an assigned client portfolio supporting Directors and Managing Directors across the team.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Support the VCRM team in managing a large national portfolio of investor and firm relationships, including investor meeting and portfolio review preparation.
- Assist Directors and MDs in developing unique events and programming to help clients succeed and enhance SVB's brand image as the leading bank for technology companies.
- Drive the "Next Gen" strategy and build relationships with pre-partner investors at key VC firms in the New York market
- Assist team with quarterly and monthly reporting deadlines.
- Support the team in tracking and analyzing key internal metrics.
- Analyze and manage internal and external data sources to identify top clients and prospects, predict fundraising needs, and extract industry trends.
- Be seen as an internal thought-leader on the VC ecosystem by staying up to date on relevant tech news and investment trends.
- Start to develop a network of VC and relevant ecosystem partners and leverage these relationships.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience working in the tech ecosystem, consulting, or financial services OR High School diploma or GED with 8 years of credit analysis and portfolio management experience.
- Knowledge of the venture industry, technology sectors, business models, and fundraising trends
- Familiarity with the Fortune 500 landscape, including an understanding of corporate functions
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office; Tableau preferred but not necessary
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to complete assigned tasks and take on new initiatives
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks at any given time
- Focused on SVB's Values, Success Drivers and Corporate Goals
Knowledge of banking products and operations, along with technology sector (Fintech, Consumer, Enterprise, Hardware) experience is a bonus
The base pay for this position is generally between $117,832 - $176,748 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
