Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): North Carolina and California.

This position supports the Bank's Small Business Administration (SBA) products and services in the execution of daily sales activities at an advanced level of service ability. Responsible for supporting designated SBA Lenders and external Referral Partners across the continental United States. Reviews and analyzes business and personal financial information provided from an applicant to assess credit risk and appetite for proceeding. Facilitates the sales process by preparing necessary documentation for the initial loan process. Ensures client satisfaction by requesting and obtaining necessary information timely, answering client inquiries, and handling support issues. May provide guidance to less experienced specialists in the work group.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis - Sources, complies, and interprets business and individual financials and credit reports to determine the creditworthiness of a business client. Analyzes factors that impact credit on both a quantitative and qualitative basis. Assists with analyzing loan processes for accuracy and efficiency, effectively communicates analysis output to SBA Lenders and Referral Partners.
  • Pre-Screening - Assesses applicants for loan eligibility. Conducts credit analysis, identifies risks, and handles negotiations to streamline the sales process.
  • Risk Management - Manages risk associated with determining if the bank should proceed with issues a term sheet for SBA loan requests.
  • Service & Support - Works directly with clients to obtain required information, address issues, and respond to inquiries. May serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the initial sales process.
  • Business Support - Provides loan support, customer service, and sales support for SBA Lenders and Referral Partners. Ensures that clients receive a high level of service and that quality standards are upheld.
  • Documentation - Prepares documentation presented to clients and/or Referral Partners. This may include, but is not limited to, term sheet/letter of intent, verification of financial information, taxpayer consent, 4506-C, 8821, etc.
  • Bank System Input - Build BOSS profiles, upload financials and link relationships, submit spreads request, etc. Obtain flood certificates and order third party reports and monitor report completion
  • Communication - Provide consistent communication to SBA Lender, Referral Partner, Client, and other team members as needed.
Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of experience in Sales, or Customer Service, or Operations OR High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in Sales, or Customer Service, or Operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of SBA SOPs, program eligibility, credit criteria, and loan structure requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting theory and logic
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs - Excel, Word, OneNote, and Outlook
  • Proficient with software programs (BOSS, RIMS, Cognos), applications, and applicable banking systems.
  • Loan documentation experience - understanding required documentation depending on program type, loan structure, etc.
  • Direct Customer/Client interaction.


If hired in CA, the base pay for this position is generally between $30.65 and $41.47 per hour. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
