Cannabis Business Relationship Manager (Remote CA)

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): California

This position is responsible for acquiring, expanding and retaining business relationships in the Cannabis industry. The role primarily engages in acquisition activities to generate new business opportunities, while also serving as a subject matter expert in support of the General Bank. This role is responsible for delivering a full range of lending, deposit and ancillary services. The role also contributes to the overall strategy development related to growing the Cannabis business segment.

Responsibilities

Sales - Sales focus to include in-person, centralized outbound calling, as well as direct Digital Marketing outreach. Achieve individual and/or team financial, production and relationship results relative to the specific metrics and goals assigned. Engage with internal associates, customers, prospects, and referral sources through proactive outreach. Engage in sales practices that are aligned to create value for both the customer and the bank. Appropriate partnering, planning and preparation occurs to ensure conversations provide the relevant financial guidance needed to drive informed decisions.

Reporting/Analytics/Strategy - Contributes to the ongoing strategy and financial planning of the Cannabis business unit. Produces reports based on data analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement. Develops process enhancements based on reporting. Determines business needs through highly technical analysis and reporting. Develops strategies to achieve company and department goals, and communicates these through the use of specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation.

Service Standards - Foster collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, prospects, and colleagues. Initiate conversation to uncover sales or referral opportunities. Listen attentively and ask insightful questions to understand customer needs and preferences; and take prompt actions to address immediate needs. Proactively look for way to optimize performance by seeking coaching, supporting Bank initiatives, and leveraging tools to enhance activities.

Operations and Administration - Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures, to manage risk related to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory and legal aspects of Hemp banking. Complete required training by established deadlines. Accountability for transaction accuracy and operational efficiency regarding deposit account opening.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Commercial or business lending, credit or business development OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Commercial or business lending, credit or business development

License or Certification Type: Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving across the footprint and some out of market travel

RequiredSkill(s): Application of a structured sales process, Providing financial guidance and expertise, Sales planning and forecasting, Financial analysis, Credit underwriting, Knowledge of business lending, deposit and cash management solutions, Knowledge of retail and wealth solutions, Business development, Networking and building centers of influence

Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to Cannabis products and services, Business/Commercial Lending background

The base pay for this position is generally between $123,205 and $188,914. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
