As a Business Relationship Manager, you will be integral to the success of key initiatives owned by the Future Growth team as we establish or deepen partnerships that bring new solutions to both wealth management and defined contribution markets. The Business Relationship Manager role will report to the Head of Future Growth and be responsible for overseeing and strengthening the business-to-business connectivity between Prudential and distribution partners for the purposes of sales enablement and overall ease of doing business.

The current Employee Work Arrangement for this opening is Remote or Hybrid, depending on candidates location. Employee will be required to attend or go into the office for any mandatory onsite/offsite meetings/trainings. Employee Work Arrangement is the businesses decision and can be adjusted or changed for business reasons at any time.

What you can expect:

  • Relationship Management across many partners who are key to our success:
    • Build effective internal relationships to support external needs - coordinate with product, legal, service, operations, marketing & other functions
    • Partner with Future Growth leads to help manage external relationships - Broker Dealers, RIAs, Asset Managers, Recordkeepers as well as vendors and technology providers
  • Assume the lead role, partnering with Future Growth leads, to create business cases, scope implementation, manage execution and launch new solutions in market with distribution partners
  • Review the relationship holistically (across initiatives), uncovering gaps or synergies to drive the optimal engagement model
  • Support business development efforts of Future Growth leads:
    • Capture status updates for regular report outs
    • Manage follow-ups with internal and external partners
  • Facilitate transition from prospecting to implementation:
    • Gather, track, and communicate our partner firms' specific workflow requirements and unique rules of engagement
    • Develop scalable implementation standards with partners and embed within existing internal processes (Firm Onboarding, Implementation Teams).
  • Drive execution of initiatives:
    • Coordinate contractual agreements and partner onboarding
    • Hold partners accountable and manage project timelines to get into market
  • Optimize the experience:
    • Identify key initiatives that can influence and improve business connectivity and client experience
    • Escalate, and resolve challenges that have potential to disrupt business with our partners
    • Find process improvements and opportunities for greater efficiency
    • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for reporting and ad hoc requests with partners

What you'll need

  • 8+ years of experience in financial services with knowledge of retail and institutional retirement income products
  • Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred
  • FINRA Series 6, 63, and State Insurance license required or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire
  • Innate executive presence and collaborative disposition to effectively lead and influence across a wide variety of management levels, cultures and business partners both inside and outside of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening, diplomacy and empathetic awareness to gain clarity and alignment across stakeholders
  • A focused problem-solver with demonstrated ability to think strategically, understand the big picture, and recognize downstream impacts
  • Self-starter with exceptional resourcefulness and the drive required to consistently deliver positive results and accomplish stated objectives
  • Comfort navigating ambiguous situations with optimism and demonstrated resilience
  • Agile mindset with the flexibility required to balance multiple competing priorities and embrace change, reacting quickly to new information, opinions and direction
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment preferred
  • Previous experience working in a business development role or sales organization preferred
  • Knowledge of financial services operations and electronic order entry technology platforms preferred

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $152,500.00 to $206,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
