Overview
This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.
As a first line of defense risk professional, this position is responsible for the support and execution of various risk programs and activities within an ET&O Business Risk and Controls Organization, adhering to the Bank's Risk Appetite and Corporate Strategy. This role is responsible to lead change initative, develop and execute communication plans that effectively guide employees through the enterprise risk changes.
Responsibilities
- Business Risk & Controls Knowledge and Expertise - Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the complexities inherent in the organization's business environment, including industry markets, products, services, client-base and competitive landscape. Ability to analyze and interpret business trends and drivers to identify underlying patterns, interdependencies and emerging opportunities. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of external factors including regulatory changes, market disruptions or business operations and strategy.
- Risk Program Execution - Supports the implementation and maintenance of the BU's risk management framework. Assists in the composition and regular maintenance of policies, standards and procedures that support risk program execution. Supports a book of work to identify gaps and assess capacity, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and prioritization of risk management initiatives. Aids in the tracking and resolution of issues across the organization, ensuring timely escalation and remediation. Produces regular metric-focused and thematic updates that detail the effectiveness of issue remediation efforts. Coordinates with other functions (i.e. Compliance, 2LOD) to ensure alignment with broader risk management and governance objectives.
- Change Management - Responsible to lead Business Risk & Controls change initiatives, perform detailed impact assessment to analyze the impact of change initiative on different employee groups, develop detail implementation plan, and facilitates tollgates and other senior leadership sessions. Strong writing skills in documenting and editing risk documents such as standards and procedures, identify key communication needs and tailor message accordingly.
- Communication Strategist - Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to support risk transformation programs in timely manner. Distribute awareness memos, announcements, and updates on upcoming changes through different communication channels. Manage and coordinate monthly change communications, partner with stakeholders to tailor messaging for different audience, address concerns, and promote engagement throughout the change lifecycle. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication and continuously improve communication strategies.
- Policy, Standards, and Procedure Governance - Support drafting, reviewing, updating, and managing the lifecycle of policies, standards, or procedures. Ensures the establishment of clarity, consistency, and alignment with business risk objectives. Able to collaborate with cross-function teams, translate complex requirements into actionable outcomes, ensure governance expectations are communicated effectively across all levels of organizations

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk
Preferred Area of Study: Finance or Risk Management
Preferred Area of Experience: Project Management or Internal/External Consulting
License or Certification Type: CRCM, PMP, CERP, CAMS; ISACA CISA, ISACA CRISC - preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, change management, or organization transformational role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling message for diverse audience
- Experience in Policy, Standards, and Procedure Governance, ensuring alignment with organizational compliance and regulatory requirements
- Strong Project Management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadline in fast paced environment
- Large Financial Institution experience
- Knowledge of risk techniques, practices, and control frameworks,
- Knowledge of various banking and government regulatory requirements and processes,
- Knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to enterprise risk and operational risk,
- Ability to work effectively with associates, senior management, and various committees
If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $99,955 and $153,264. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
