Responsibilities
Finastra is looking for a DNS Engineer to join the DNS operations team. As a member of the DNS Operations team, you will be responsible for configuration and incident management on all aspects of the production DNS solution, including performing break/fix and proactive maintenance to resolve outages and minimize the potential for future impact. This includes hardware/software lifecycle management, network hygiene/standardization, run-list automation, as well as application monitoring improvements to proactively diagnose potential issues. You will provide support for DNS-related customer issues and ensure that thorough root cause analysis is completed on internal and customer-impacting issues. You will be responsible for standardization and interoperability of Microsoft Active Directory DNS, Infoblox, BIND, and other DNS platforms as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all DNS issues are resolved in a timely manner, with minimal impact on customers.
Perform high-level troubleshooting and analysis to determine the root cause of DNS outages and implement workarounds and/or permanent solutions.
Isolate hardware and software problems on servers and work with vendors to resolve issues as necessary.
Perform and/or direct break/fix maintenance, such as RMAs, patching, builds, etc.
Perform and/or direct proactive server maintenance, such as code upgrades, hardware refreshes, config updates, and clean up/decommission.
Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and architecture teams to identify ways in which we can proactively improve the stability of the services and decrease potential for future outages to occur.
Provide tier 2 technical expertise for DNS related issues.
Drive service ownership for the DNS Cloud; assist in efforts to streamline problem and change management processes, improve alerting and incident handling, and increase automation.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Experience with BIND software, TCP/IP networking and core technologies, such as DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.
Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment (DHCP, DNS, NTP, SYSLOG, SSH, etc.).
Experience with performance analysis, systems software, and systems architecture.
Knowledge of system performance methodologies along with hands-on empirical monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
Strong analytical approach to problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly, while successfully handling multiple priorities.
Must work well as part of a team in a high-energy environment; must possess good written and verbal communication skills and good time-management abilities.
Experience with Public Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, etc.

DESIRED SKILLS
Experience using Infoblox devices and their WAPI interface.
Experience with Active Directory DNS integration with BIND based platforms and management.
