IT Engineer - Network

The NVIDIA IT organization is looking for IT support engineers for managing the IT infrastructure at our worldwide supply chain partner environment. In this role, you will work with our operations and supply chain stakeholders, product owners, and other network and security engineers as a collaborative team to deliver and maintain mission-critical IT infrastructure at our partner manufacturing sites.

What you will be doing:

  • Attend various business meetings for collecting technical requirement, propose architecture design and review quotation / proposal from our vendors/partners.
  • Travel to factory sites in APAC / US (around 20% ~ 30%) for gear setup and maintenance based on the provided network and cabling diagram.
  • Work with our partners / vendors for deploying infrastructure and providing operational support.
  • Implement effective monitoring for ensuring uptime and device healthiness using appropriate infra monitoring tools. React on alarms and error conditions and rectify faults.
  • Provide on-site standby support during scheduled and emergency (unplanned) maintenance (e.g. power maintenance, network / server / system upgrade, outage).
  • Enhance automation by adopting scripting language for minimizing support effort and human error.
  • Perform software firmware upgrade and ensure the firmware is in latest stable version without security vulnerability
  • Create and maintain necessary operation and support documentation (e.g. runbook / playbook / asset inventory system)

What we need to see:

  • 5+ yrs of experience with general IT infrastructure support (network, unix/windows system and data security)
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP protocol, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience with IT audit, network security and data center operation best practice
  • Hands on experience with firewall and load balancer deployment, configuration and support.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer science or related areas (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to detect all service-impacting issues, accurate triage, partner communication, apply urgent workaround, service restoration, and post-incident follow-up.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with scripting (e.g. Python / BASH) for task automation
  • Background with DHCP option82 deployment
  • Experience with data center cabling (1G/10G/25G/40G/100G/200G Fiber and UTP cabling)
  • Attentive to detail, feel comfortable in communicating effectively with people from all levels (technical and non-technical)
