The Role

As a Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting enterprise communications efforts aimed at enhancing Fidelity's brand perception among key external partners, including customers, communities, and prospective talent. You will work across Fidelity, including with business units and marketing teams, to support multi-channel opportunities, including content development and earned media. Additionally, you will help drive communications measurement and reporting with a focus on data analysis and interpretation. You also will help support enterprise-wide reputation management strategies and rollouts and collaborate with cross-functional teams on issues that relate directly to Fidelity, the financial services industry or the general social environment.

The Team

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate External Communications, you will join a dedicated Newsroom team of public relations and media relations professionals who touch all parts of Fidelity's diversified financial services business and is considered a valued asset on an ongoing basis and at critical junctures. The Corporate External Communications Team is part of Fidelity's Corporate Affairs which drives all messaging and positioning for Fidelity on an enterprise level.

The Expertise We're Looking For

We are looking for an individual with a bachelor's degree and up to one to three years of related experience as a communications/public relations professional; Public relations agency experience preferred.

We seek an individual who can assist in the creation of communications programs that align with enterprise priorities and demonstrate their impact. You should be meticulous and pay scrupulous attention to accuracy and overall work quality while meeting deadlines and be a creative problem solver and idea generator. If you have a validated track-record of demonstrating initiative and are eager to learn, have strong technical, data analysis and measurement skills and interest in learning new applications, have strong writing, editing and research skills, and can adapt in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, you align well with this role. Additionally, you should be a fast learner who is highly motivated, open to feedback and eager to keep learning, thrives in a team environment and can partner efficiently and creatively with all types of personalities. Candidates should understand social platforms (Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube) and be knowledgeable about various platforms for media monitoring, coverage reports, and media measurement, including developing or modifying existing measurement and reporting.

The Value You Deliver

In this role, the person will primarily support communications efforts that protect and improve external partners' perception. You will measure the effectiveness of communications programs to include creation and assembly of communications measurement for senior leadership. The communications specialist will function as a project manager capable of leading multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity's high standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal and compliance. You also will act as a junior spokesperson and provide a range of support to spokespeople in the group, including assisting with media research, messaging development and outreach, supporting social media content development, posting and profile management. Further, you will assist the team with reporter research, media and social media coverage reports (providing consistency across the team) and ad hoc projects as well as assist with the distribution of company announcements, electronic compliance review for external communications documents.

The base salary range for this position is $52,000-$83,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
