Position Description:

Builds Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with frameworks - REST, SOAP, Java and Spring Boot. Designs and architects Cloud native applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). Builds scalable web applications using component-based frameworks -- Angular. Performs unit testing using Java and JUnit frameworks. Builds automation pipelines by leveraging DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools including Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, and Bamboo. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.


  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.


  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.


  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.


  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.


  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.


  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.


  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.


  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client/server applications within a Cloud computing environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing client/server applications within a Cloud computing environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and implementing high performant, scalable multi-agent and distributed architecture using Java, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot framework; and developing client/server applications using Java, Spring Boot framework, AWS, PCF, and JUnit.


  • DE designing, developing, and deploying Cloud native services using AWS technologies (EC2, SQS, and SNS) and PCF; and designing high performing message flows using Active MQ, Apache Camel, and Apache Kafka.


  • DE testing customer-facing enterprise back-end applications pre- and post-installation, including performing unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing using Java and JUnit.


  • DE performing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) by building pipelines to automate the building, testing, and deployment of software applications using Jenkins, Bamboo, and UDeploy; and building dashboards to monitor the performance of the software applications using Splunk.
