Position Description:
Designs and develops applications using Java, SQL databases, and Spring. Leverages Kubernetes to integrate components within Cloud computing environments and applications, including Amazon Web Services (AWS). Deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) using Concourse and Jenkins. Utilizes Agile development methodology; builds and deploys REST Application Program Interfaces (APIs) by leveraging tools such as Unix/Linux Shell Scripting and Junit. Performs codes and programs systems using Structured Query Language (SQL) such as Web UI (React JS, Angular JS) and applications with big-data technologies such as Apache Kafka. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing distributed applications software in a financial services environment, using Java or Python.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing distributed applications software in a financial services environment, using Java or Python.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing distributed, low-latency, high throughput applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Agile methodologies.
- DE developing, testing, monitoring, and supporting applications within an electronic trading environment, using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Apigee API, Python, Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- DE developing Server-side components to consume, analyze, and transform data from Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in a Linux environment, using python3, Java 17, and shell scripting.
- DE configuring continuous build and integration flows, using Git, Maven, Ant, Docker, Junit (testing), Mockito (testing) and Jenkins pipelines with Terraform for continuous delivery purposes and accessing Jenkins deployment with kubectl for pod level control and experience working with AzureDevOps pipelines within a Windows or UNIX environment (Ubuntu).
Salary: $136,500.00 - $139,100.00/year.
