Position Description:

Implements and operates applications over public Cloud programs such as AWS. Develops platforms to deliver data to millions of Fidelity customers in an Agile environment. Develops software applications using tools such as GO and Python and uses methodologies such as Behavior Driven Development (BDD).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works as a member of the Enterprise Infrastructure Market Data ("EI MD") organization to develop modern market data applications.
  • Adheres to architecture standards.
  • Develops applications of moderately complex scope.
  • Provides application support by diagnosing and resolving technical problems with minimal business impact.
  • Performs unit and integration testing.
  • Develops clear and concise documents of moderately complex scope.
  • Performs post-installation testing to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Develops technical modules in support of moderately complex assignments or multiple phases of highly complex projects.
  • Performs technical and functional analysis for projects of moderately complex scope.
  • Modifies software to correct errors, to allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
  • Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within constraints.
  • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposing modifications and improvements based on user need.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and performance tuning enterprise financial applications, using Go, Java, or AWS in a financial domain.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one year (1) of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and performance tuning enterprise financial applications, using Go, Java, or AWS in a financial domain.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing enterprise financial services applications using Go, Python, Java/J2EE, Spring (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, or Spring Rest), or Hibernate in distributed environments.
  • DE developing Go-based or Java-based middleware services to extract and contribute market and reference data, using Oracle, Cassandra, or Snowflake databases.
  • DE creating CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines using Jenkins Core, GitHub, Maven, go.mod, or Artifactory for business-critical, financial applications developed in Java/J2ee, Spring Boot, Go, Python, or Shell script.
  • DE operating cloud-optimized applications using ECS, EKS, Step Functions, Lambda, or Batch within AWS cloud environment.
