Senior Software Engineer/Developer

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and designing software applications using Java, Python, Bash and PowerShell.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and designing software applications using Java, Python, Bash and PowerShell.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing enterprise applications using Java v11, J2EE, Spring, and Spring-boot in Hibernate frameworks; developing API endpoints for application integration using Web Services - JAXB, JAX-WS, SOAP, WSDL, JAX-RS, and Representation State Transfer (RESTful) Web services; writing Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) test cases (Selenium and Cucumber) for automated Web application testing; and running application source code to ensure application security through secure code scanning tools -Veracode.
• DE designing and developing responsive Web Model-View-Controller (MVC) applications, using Angular, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js, Web security technologies (OAuth and SAML); and writing scripts for automation jobs using Python, Bash, and Shell on Linux operating system.
• DE applying DevOps principles throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) -performing Continuous Integration (using Jenkins) and Continuous Deployments and code scan (using Sonar) for Web applications, and verifying application source code meets quality aspects; and applying Log4j for software operation monitoring and audit tracking in application monitoring tools - Kibana, Splunk, and Datadog.
• DE writing PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and views to interact with Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) databases - MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL; and building enterprise caching layers for performance optimization using Redis.
