Position Description:

Builds and improves mobile, Web, and batch applications within on-premises and hybrid Cloud environments - Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Develops and crafts software application infrastructure solutions. Prepares software applications for Cloud migration and automated deployments using Cloud technologies - Identity and Access Management (IAM), S3, Key Management, VPC, Security Groups, NACL, Cloud Front, Terraform Templates, and Cloud Watch/Datadog. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Cloud applications in AWS.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Cloud applications in AWS.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") building User Interfaces (UIs), using Angular and Visual Studio; designing and developing 12 factor Cloud complaint backend business Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in a fixed income trading domain, using Java and SpringBoot Framework; creating Jenkins pipelines to build source code and deploy Docker images to Cloud platforms according to Agile methodologies; documenting APIs in playbooks; maintaining contracts in SwaggerHub; and maintaining source code using Git; and integrating APIs to connect to databases (Oracle, DB2, and KDB), using JDBC (MyBatis and JDBC template) and connection pooling frameworks (HikariCP).
  • DE writing Q queries to extract and validate data from KDB databases using QInsightPad; creating DDL/DML objects - materialized views and stored procedures - using SQL developer; delivering APIs according to industry code quality standards; performing functional and regression testing using JavaScript on Postman; performing latency and capacity testing, using Mox and jMeter; performing vulnerability and static code testing, using Veracode and Sonar scan; and creating automated unit, component, integration, and system tests, using Junit and Mockito.
  • DE performing Cloud service engineering - building, deploying, scaling, and triaging on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), and Rancher Cloud platforms; and deploying Web applications in a Linux environment using Tomcat servers.
  • DE building, deploying, and running secure Cloud-native applications using AWS core services - EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and API gateway; building, deploying, and running Cloud container platforms, using Docker and ECS; building scalable messaging applications, using Identity Access Management (AWS-IAM) and Kafka; performing configuration management using Cloud Formation; and building log aggregating dashboards, using AWS CloudWatch and Datadog.
