Position Description:

Defines and provides technical solutions to design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements of applications for trading products. Analyzes business applications for trading services using technical knowledge to analyze data (SQL) independently and technical concepts to assess effectiveness of proposed solutions regarding business problems. Leads an Agile software development team and plays a hands-on role in defining the 'What' for the Scrum team to design, develop, test and deploy enhancements of applications in trading services. Creates business critical applications for portfolio managers and traders to make important cash investment decisions for the fund. Uses Agile frameworks - business analysis, user story writing, acceptance testing, end user certification. Delivers technology solutions, using Jira Align and Jira. Uses business knowledge to perform project management for technology projects. Works with end-users to gather requirements, develops product roadmap and strategy, and coordinates product development and support. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues by leveraging technical experience working with cloud technologies and front-end user interfaces for software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creates requirements and strategy for technical solutions by engaging business partners to understand their needs.
  • Analyzes user needs and requirements to determine feasibility of design within constraints.
  • Develops and maintains product strategy to direct and inform squad's work progress.
  • Interviews customers to understand pain points and creates Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), documents user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Identifies gaps in the current process, develops requirements, and prioritizes them.
  • Collaborates with tech partners to develop short-term and long-term automated solutions.
  • Maintains requirements and product backlog.
  • Develops strong relationships with business and technology partners to efficiently collaborate and move the work forward.
  • Prioritizes upcoming work with Business and Technical Stakeholders.
  • Confers with systems analysts and software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Develops and oversees software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Performing business risk management and driving continuous improvements.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Economics, Finance, Computational Finance, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Manager, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) performing business systems analysis, user story writing, acceptance testing, and end user certification in an Agile environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Economics, Finance, Computational Finance, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Manager, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) performing business systems analysis, user story writing, acceptance testing, and end user certification in an Agile environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") defining the strategic roadmap for a product - end-to-end product delivery and feature delivery tradeoffs of the product - according to Agile methodologies, using JIRA Align, JIRA, and Confluence; and coordinating a team to define, plan, and execute clear product visions and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the product.
  • DE managing business application systems technology projects (gathering functional and technical requirements); and defining epics and user stories, and managing the product backlog according to Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, using Atlassian Agile.
  • DE managing and monitoring the progress of all stages of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using JIRA, JIRA Align, and Confluence for analysis, design, development, testing, rollout, and support; driving functional and integration testing; supporting the project post release; and ensuring continuous communication and collaboration with stakeholders using tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office).
  • DE analyzing and querying data required to derive insights and support the creation of use cases used in building the functional specifications from approved business requirements, using SQL and MS Excel; and improving existing product and guide technical teams using technical knowledge of Cloud technologies, front-end and back-end technologies, and user interfaces.

Salary: $151,195.00 - $161,195.00/year.
