Position Description:
Drives compliance with established software development lifecycle and release process. End-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. Partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to execute on specific product features. Collaborate and coordinate with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Master to build squad capacity and capability and enable squad member growth, development, and learning. Designs and develops technical solutions using Microsoft PowerPlatform, Angular, Azure Cloud Services, C#, Java/J2EE & client-side web technologies. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to architectural strategy.
- Identifies and consults with internal and external technical resources to produce cross-company strategic designs.
- Consults on development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.
- Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.
- Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
- Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
- Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
- Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
- Ensure alignment on the "what" and "when" work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog.
- Define, refine and communicate the squads' mission and roadmap to empower and establish team and partner support and alignment.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships as you work cross-functionally across Fidelity to de-liver business outcomes.
- Grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria.
- Make informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) analyzing, designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting scalable, high-volume cloud based platforms and software applications using C#.NET, PowerPlatform, Java/J2EE, and client-side web technologies.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) analyzing, designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting scalable, high-volume cloud based platforms and software applications using C#.NET, PowerPlatform, Java/J2EE, and client-side web technologies.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") performing Server-side development using C# .NET Framework solutions and Java8 functional programming solutions - Lamdba and Streams, Spring Framework, and JavaScript Object Notation; built web applications and User Interfaces (UI) and designed cloud-enabled code for web applications using client-side web technologies - HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS and Angular framework.
- DE performing Database (DB) server-side data retrieval - defining and developing Oracle DB objects, normalized tables, user defined functions, views, and triggers - using Oracle PL/SQL and Stored Procedures.
- DE performing Unit and Integration Testing of UI and Java/J2EE layers within applications and configuring Jenkins for CI/CD deployment using Junit framework.
- DE developing applications using Microsoft PowerApps's low code technologies - Canvas application, Model-driven application, Power Automate, and Azure Power functions.
