Job Description:

The Role

Platform engineering is looking for a senior front-end engineer to join our web platform team. As a staff software engineer, your mission is to empower engineers at Fidelity working within our Typescript monorepos to deliver innovative features with high velocity and quality by providing foundational libraries, frameworks, and tools for development, testing, and release. With a focus on web-specific technologies and integrations, you will drive implementation and standardization of shared tools across Fidelity in a hands-on manner.

The Team

The workspace web platform team focuses on creating a unified developer experience across Fidelity and will be involved in the hands-on creation of standardized tools for testing frameworks, developer environments, bundler and build system implementations, CI jobs, client libraries for observability and experimentation, editor integrations, and REST + GraphQL implementations. Our goal is to create an environment that empowers productive development without compromising quality. The team will directly impact the productivity and experience of front-end developers across multiple product areas.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • MUST have 5+ years hands on experience as front-end software engineer using modern JavaScript frameworks.


  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in solution architecture, analytics, design, and development of enterprise solutions in multiple technology platforms, frameworks, and languages.


  • 1+ years experience maintaining Nx workspaces or development with Nx sdk for generators + executors


  • 2+ years experience or solid working knowledge of current DevOps practices and current CI + CD frameworks


  • Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent experience


  • Ability to provide technical leadership to junior team members


  • Ability to engage with multiple groups to prototype solutions and provide common solutions


  • Ability to analyze business direction, understand the long-term vision, and quantify the risk/benefits in developing strategic technical solutions. Collaborate closely with the product owners and squads in technology evaluation, selection, recommendation, and configuration.


  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with product owners, architects, and software engineers. Seek opportunities to refactor business processes, improve user experience or perform capability rationalization.


  • In-depth knowledge of APIs, infrastructure, data architecture. Experience in cloud technologies and practices, building and deploying applications using either AWS or Azure or both

  • Angular, Typescript, NX Workspace, HTML, CSS, JavaScript


  • Karma/Jasmine, Jest, Cypress, Playwright


  • Web Components, Component Architecture


  • GIT, Jenkins, Node.js


  • DevOps - CI/CD delivery code (groovy or other)


  • Managing Shared Libraries, Working with design systems


  • WCAG 2.1 and AA/AAA Standards
