Director - Solutions Architect

Hiring for multiple positions and experiences ranges, placement is based on your background.

At Fidelity Personal Investing (PI), we are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to drive end-to-end solution architecture for Wealth Management business domain. In this role, you will work directly with product teams across the retail investing space (brokerage accounts, managed services, banking services, etc) and the workplace investing space (401ks, health-insurance related accounts, etc) to design solutions that meet business priorities and initiatives.

What you will be responsible for

This role will be a very hands-on role driving the overall technical and solutions architecture. You will be responsible for all aspects of the solution architecture, from security to data strategy, and work closely with all areas of engineering to best align architecture. You will collaboratively work across other product areas and multiple business units influencing and driving the digital modernization efforts within.

In general, we are looking for a solid Solutions Architect that can lead and drive the end-to-end architecture of multiple teams in a complex space.

The Expertise we're looking for...

The following is a selection of skills (but not a hard list of requirements) that will help you thrive in this role:

  • Proven experience in architecture, including scalability, resilience, security, and data architecture.
  • Experienced in engineering web and mobile applications end to end, with a focus on customer experience, scale, security, and performance
  • Proficient in Cloud Architecture, Services, and Patterns
  • Experience in DevSecOps and authoring CI/CD automation
  • Deep understanding of well architected framework implementation in Enterprise: Operation Excellent, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency and Cost optimization.
  • Strong understanding of Domain Driven Design and the ability to apply it to new domains.
  • Experience and understanding of event-driven architecture, messaging systems, and event brokers to create scalable and decoupled systems
  • Proven experience developing systems based on patterns of microservices
  • Experience building highly scalable architecture to support Omnichannel experience platforms
  • Proven experience with API development and design (RESTful, GraphQL) practices including versioning, monitoring, and security for both internal and external customers

What to expect?

An initial conversation with the assigned Technical Recruiter for overall job expectations and employment requirements. Then you will have a conversation with one of the Architecture Leads operating in the Wealth Management Domain. After that, 3-part multi-panel interview where you should expect to discuss questions and scenarios around end-to-end architectural solutioning, technical background, and leadership topics with a group of your potential future peers.
