The Team

In the Fidelity Institutional Technology group, We will welcome you onto an agile track that is at the forefront of engineering in Fidelity Institutional Technology with a high level of focus on TDD, Continuous Integration/Delivery and engineering standard methodologies. We want to work with an engineer who is versatile, always eager to take on new problems and share solutions as we push the technology forward. Working independently as well as collaboratively, it is important for this person to have a positive approach to leadership, teamwork, and a drive to deliver groundbreaking solutions every day.

The Expertise You Have

  • Have at least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent, with a preference for advanced study
  • Minimum 10+ years of development experience and 3+ years of management experience
  • Proficient in Angular, Java Script
  • Proficient in Java, Spring, RESTful services, and have proven expertise in major provider cloud technologies, with a preference for AWS
  • Demonstrated history of guiding and mentoring junior team members on a path of solid engineering practices
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment, with a strong preference for Scrum certifications
  • Experience managing a team of developers
  • Previous exposure to trading systems or brokerage technology
  • Knowledge of the FIX protocol is strongly preferred
  • Exposure to Mainframe technologies a plus, but not required

  • Demonstrated work experience with cloud technologies. Industry certifications are welcome, but hands on experience and expertise are better. Walking the walk is the most important thing
  • An eye for detail and a skill for root cause analysis in diagnosing and mitigating production problems as quickly as possible in a dynamic, high value environment

The Value you Deliver

  • Deliver high quality, timely, cost effective and maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional business requirements
  • Actively contribute to the design and implementation of engineering practices such as code and design reviews, cloud strategy, and build and deployment pipelines
  • Work with product owner, squad lead and architecture on a frequent, recurring basis to design and influence technical improvements to the platform, team, and direction
  • Able to clearly present complex technical solutions, ideas, and plans to senior management, business partners, and less technical stakeholders as needed
  • Develop a keen understanding of the business domain you are working on and actively guide technology discussions with business partners and other external parties
  • Investigate creative practices and decide how to apply them within the team.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
