The Role

We are seeking an experienced hands-on Solutions Architect to collaboratively drive end-to-end architecture for the Core Brokerage Platform Technology at Fidelity, one of the largest Brokerages in the world. In this role, you will work closely with multiple teams across various business and technical domains to understand business requirements, architect solutions and lead Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) that meet changing business priorities and initiatives while assuring adherence to Enterprise standards for application, data, platform, and infrastructure layers guided by Well-Architected Principles.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the Financial Services business domain and provide leadership in road map evolution, strategizing complex problems, arriving at solution based on rational reasoning and drives the solution adoption.

You will proactively facilitate effective in-person and remote engagements across hybrid teams to drive, manage, & monitor comprehensive Architectural Strategy execution. This includes, but is not limited to Business Capability Analysis, Customer Journey Mapping, Architecture Design and Documentation, Technology and Solution Evaluations, Domain Modeling, Data Architecture, API Strategy, Microservices Architecture, Cloud Adoption, Security, Automation, Fin Ops, etc.

We are looking for a solid Solutions Architect with a proven track-record of working with multiple teams to lead and drive end-to-end architecture in a complex brokerage space.

The Skills and Experience You Bring

  • Proven experience in defining and driving Technology Architecture evolution of complex tech stacks. This includes managing the Architecture Lifecycle of multiple concurrent solutions through strong communication skills, organizational skills, cross-functional collaboration (stakeholder management), business analysis, architecture definition, diagramming, documentation, POC creation, presentation skills, influential ability, and an ability to make progress despite ambiguity.
  • Proven experience in arriving at solution collaboratively with business and engineering partners.
  • Proven experience delivering solution artifacts targeting Senior management to development engineers. Such as Capability Mapping, Contextual System Design, Detailed Solution Architecture, Deployment Architecture & Security Architecture.
  • Proven experience making Key Decisions based on rationale.
  • Hands on Experience and Proficient in Latest UI Technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, Typescript, Stylesheets and UI Design Systems.
  • Hands on Experience and Proficient in Latest UI Testing Frameworks.
  • Hands on Experience and Proficient in Micro-front-end Architecture, GraphQL, Web Experience Tier and REST APIs.
  • Proficient in FDC3 Standards, Frameworks, Products and Technology such as Electron, OpenFin or Interop.IO.
  • Proficient in Web Security Standards, Frameworks and Technology such as Envoy, OAuth, SSL, Web Servers, DMZ, Zero Trust Security Models and Spring Security.
  • Strong Understanding of Business Processes and Operations in Investment Banking.
  • Proven Experience in Business Process Orchestration, BPMN Products and Workflow Frameworks.
  • Proven experience inengineering large-scale server-side applications end-to-end, with a focus on Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Resiliency, Performance Efficiency, and Cost Optimization.
  • Proven experience in producing End to End Solution Architecture Designs and Architecture Blueprints using Tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Visio and Confluence.
  • Proficient in Cloud Architecture, Services, and Patterns. Hands-on experience with Core AWS services is a must-have.
  • Amazon VPC, DNS, ELB, CloudFront, API Gateway, IAM, EC2, EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, Glue/EMR, S3, RDS Oracle/PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Secrets Manager, CloudFormation/Terraform, Data Lake, Data Fabric, Service Mesh, Event-Driven Architecture, Resiliency, Disaster Recovery, etc.
  • Proven experience in Microservices Architecture.
  • Proven experience in Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
  • Proven experience in Data technologies and paradigms such as Caching, ETL/ELT, SQL, Aerospike DB, PostgresSQL and No-SQL Databases.
  • Proven experience in DevSecOps and CI/CD automation (Jenkins Core and GitOps preferred).
  • Proven experience in Low Latency, High throughput, Large Volume Document Archive Product.
  • Proficient in Mainframe Migrations to Cloud.
  • Proficient in Objective Risk vs Reward decision and deliver Pragmatic iterative solutions by taking calculated risks and document and communicate the risks.
  • Proficient in Cloud/On-Premises Networking Topologies.
  • Knowledgeable about Mainframe Technology.
  • Proven experience with Java (Spring framework preferred). Python and Full-Stack JavaScript/TypeScript are also helpful.
  • Strong understanding of common Architecture Principles, Patterns, and trade-offs.
  • Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design, and an ability to apply it to new and existing domains.
  • Strong understanding of the Twelve-Factor App.
  • Ability to work both independently and with all levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical team members.
  • Flexible, growth-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
