Position Description:
Develops Web-enabled applications according to MicroService patterns and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) methodologies using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure. Develops Cloud-based solutions using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), DevOps, serverless architecture, and Agile best practices and methodologies. Implements new technologies using Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. Develops code to deliver polyglot solutions using Java, Python, and Javascript. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.
- Leads product management, software development, and Cloud computing.
- Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software systems, uses scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
- Consults on development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.
- Consults on deployment of major project deliverables.
- Consults on the documentation of major technology application.
- Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.
- Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.
- Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
- Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
- Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
- Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
- Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) developing Web services and application integration solutions using Java Spring, middle-tier integration tools, and Cloud services - AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) developing Web services and application integration solutions using Java Spring, middle-tier integration tools, and Cloud services - AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") maintaining Cloud-based (AWS, GCP, and Azure) architecture and designing highly scalable and reliable solutions using Cloud services - AWS/Azure Services, Lambda, Kafka, Kubernetes, security services, and API gateway.
- DE designing and developing robust responsive and highly scalable microservices using Java, Spring frameworks, and Graph-QL; and deploying Single Page Applications (SPAs) to AWS using CI/CD.
- DE creating containerization strategies using Docker and serverless application architectures; and defining long term strategies on API management, domain/policy modeling, infrastructure, data architecture, security, and new technologies.
Salary: $161,254.00 - $172,700.00/year.
