    • Consult with senior management on strategy for gathering financial information to achieve business outcomes.
    • Translate company direction for the team responsible for analysis of business and financial information to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
    • Present reports documenting financial results to key stakeholders.
    • Convey the business analysis and explanations of financial results to ensure accuracy and support business decisions.
    • Refine accounting and financial operations processes and related controls.
    • Understand and operationalize new products and policies.
    • Support partners in finance transformation.
    • Monitor and analyze emerging accounting issues and proposed rule changes, assisting in implementation of new requirements across affected areas within Treasury.

    In this compelling leadership position, you will lead the implementation and ongoing management of initiatives for analysis of business transactions and financial information to determine and maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities.

    The Finance - Accounting - Director role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

    • Consult with senior management on strategy for gathering financial information to achieve business outcomes.
    • Translate company direction for the team responsible for analysis of business and financial information to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
    • Present reports documenting financial results to key stakeholders.
    • Convey the business analysis and explanations of financial results to ensure accuracy and support business decisions.
    • Refine accounting and financial operations processes and related controls.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required Experiences

    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
    • 8 years accounting work experience
    • 5+ years experience with capital markets products and accounting, including derivatives and hedge accounting
    • Licensed Certified Public Accountant
    • 7+ years of operational accounting experience

    Desired Experiences

    • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 5+ years managing operational accounting teams
    • Skilled in managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, etc.
    • Ability to develop a solid understanding of Fannie Mae's business model with the ability to explain financial results in a meaningful way; Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems; experience with process automation and using accounting software such as Workiva and/or Workday (preferred)
    • Demonstrated ability to think beyond the numbers, connecting financial data to business outcomes and anticipating future needs.
