Job Description
The role of the Community Investment & Engagement (CIE) team is to engage employees across the company as they connect with Fannie Mae's mission through corporate citizenship initiatives, including volunteerism and giving.

The CIE team has direct responsibility for the management of projects, programs, and events that the company supports to engage employees in volunteer service to the community. These programs are presented under the Serve360 umbrella, exemplifying Fannie Mae's commitment to providing a comprehensive volunteer and giving program to employees, as well as our well-rounded approach to partnerships with the local community nonprofits we work with each day to make an impact.
Reporting to the Director of Community Investment & Engagement, working as part of a collaborative team, the Lead Associate will oversee Year-Round Volunteerism across the organization including enterprise-wide events for individuals and employee-led events, as well as company-sponsored team events customized and tailored to group interests and needs. In execution of duties, this position will plan volunteer projects on their own as well as utilize third-party volunteer management organizations. This position will support volunteer activations of various sizes, manage staffing and budgets for projects, and make presentations to inspire every volunteer and connect them to Fannie Mae's mission.

The Corporate Citizenship- Lead Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Guide team in determining the needs of our customers to produce target business outcomes and results.
- Provide consulting expertise and advice, as well as work with our customers to fulfill their needs.
- Monitor and measure progress against business objectives to deliver results.
- Review and analyze data to formulate continuous improvement strategies.
- Design, implement and enhance custom volunteer engagement opportunities and events in support of team-building. Identify and develop relationships with external partners to design and enhance our capacity to provide opportunities to connect employees to Fannie Mae's mission through volunteer programs and events.
- In partnership with Marketing and Communications, promote Year-Round Volunteerism and Serve360 programming across Fannie Mae to inspire and recruit volunteers.
- Project management of new and existing mission-driven volunteer initiatives. Partner with business units, employee resource groups, and leaders to grow and maintain programs. Be a resource and subject matter expert to employees to help meet respective goals. Identify and address any challenges faced by volunteers or the program.
- Evaluate and report on the success and effectiveness of volunteer partnerships and programs. Track and provide analysis of evaluation metrics to measure the ROI, effectiveness and alignment with goals. Share data, impact stories and other information to assist with storytelling and reporting.
- Act as a direct link between Fannie Mae, vendors and nonprofit partners to create and facilitate volunteer opportunities.
- Manage the vendor relationship with third-party volunteer management organizations, including payments, contract renewals, reporting, safety protocols, etc.
- Support internal teams requests for planning and executing volunteer engagements
Other
- Support other CIE activities including Deployments, Skills-Based Volunteering and Matching Gifts administration.
- Independently coordinate and oversee assigned programs, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Identify and address program risks, issues, and barriers, implementing proactive solutions.
- Determine, develop, and deliver training materials for volunteers.
- Maintain accurate program documentation, including program files, budgets, and relevant records.
- Develop & implement communication messages for internal and external audiences, considering their specific needs and preferences.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training volunteers and working well with team leads, ensuring mission objectives are met
- Ability to exert good judgement, able to recruit new people and match them to projects suited to their skills
- Good marketing skills for increasing program awareness
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Executive Sponsor and employee volunteers
- Ability to effectively manage relationships with nonprofit partners and third-party vendors in program portfolio and effectively manage corresponding program budgets
- Thoughtful project manager with the ability to balance and drive multiple projects concurrently; comfort prioritizing and executing in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs. This may include attending and leading events that could be scheduled outside of regular work hours as well as traveling to key locations to manage and engage in volunteer activity (DMV and Plano, TX). Up to 20% travel outside of DMV required.
- Experience with America's Charities (or similar software) preferred.
- Experience in social impact or corporate social responsibility is a plus.
