As an IT Network Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the operational health (Security, Availability, Performance, Interoperability and Reliability) of the company’s data communications systems. You will support the installation, maintenance, and administration of data and voice communications systems. Network Engineers specialize in LAN/WAN, Wireless, Data Center, and Telecommunications hardware, software, and cabling. 
 
Responsibilities and Tasks 

  • Provide operational support for network (wired and wireless), voice, data, and video infrastructure for the corporate enterprise. 
  • On-call support is required
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, alerts, and notifications for the environment from the management system.
  • Determine the needs of the site (bandwidth, network, etc.).
  • Integrate the current designs of previously existing network into the enterprise network.
  • Optimize the performance of equipment and LAN/WAN connectivity 
  • Support equipment that needs to be retired and the replacement.
  • Work with the global network teams to incorporate company standards and best practices
  • Manage and maintain the existing environment.
  • Maintain the information in the management system.
  • L1/L2 escalation point for corporate network teams.
  • Optimize performance of existing and new equipment.
  • Configure and operate equipment that is supported.
  • Document processes and procedures. 
  • Suggest ways to improve the supported services
  • Collaborate with other IT teams.

Experience Required 

  • 2 years’ experience in some of the following areas: 
  • Wireless LAN Networks
  • Cisco systems
  • Application of QOS to support Voice and Video 
  • Network monitoring and management applications
  • IP address management, routing management, subnet assignment, VLAN management
  • WAN technologies 
  • Wireless technologies
  • Experience with EIGRP and BGP and other routing protocols
  • Experience with scripting for automation or API access
  • Network access control technologies 
  • Managing IP DNS, DHCP, NTP systems
