Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will be part of the research and development department supporting innovative projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Round Lake, IL (Onsite)

 

What's the Job?

  • Perform a wide variety of research and development laboratory tasks and experiments focused on mechanical testing and prototyping.
  • Disassemble and reassemble complex electromechanical devices while taking precise measurements.
  • Document experimental results and maintain thorough records of tests and observations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to analyze data and troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.
  • Support the maintenance of laboratory equipment and inventory of supplies.

What's Needed?

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey detailed observations.
  • Ability to document experimental results and perform problem-solving tasks.
  • Experience with mechanical test equipment and measurements (e.g., torque drivers, tensile testers).
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
