As a Commercial Construction Manager, you will oversee all aspects of commercial expansion and renovation construction projects within a pharmaceutical company, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with strict regulatory standards like cGMP, managing contractors, coordinating with internal teams, and prioritizing quality and safety throughout the construction process. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail as well as experience managing large commercial expansion projects.

Job Title: Commercial Construction Manager
Location: Marietta, PA
Pay range: $75-80/hr
Contract: 1-3 year contract
What's the Job?
- Oversee the day-to-day management of construction and demolition works, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Source and manage external contractors, overseeing their work quality, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with project specifications.
- Manage construction sites to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with construction plans, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders like engineering teams, quality assurance, production staff, and senior management, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
- Ensure all construction activities adhere to relevant pharmaceutical regulations like FDA guidelines (cGMP) regarding facility design, validation, and documentation.
- Implement rigorous quality checks throughout the construction process, including inspections of materials, workmanship, and documentation to maintain high standards.
- Identify potential risks associated with the project, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to minimize delays and cost overruns.
- Coordinate final inspections, document project completion, and ensure all necessary handover documentation is prepared.
- Support the construction safety manager to implement a safe system of work prior to project activities.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years experience
- Proven experience managing complex construction projects within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Understanding of building systems, cleanroom design, HVAC, utilities, and specialized equipment used in pharmaceutical facilities.
- Deep knowledge of cGMP guidelines, FDA regulations, and other relevant standards impacting pharmaceutical construction.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex construction challenges while maintaining project timelines and quality.
