Position Overview

The Maintenance Recycling Processing Specialist (MRPS) will primarily process recyclable materials through the BioSAFE or STI machine at 320 Holtzman Rd along with driving a 26' straight truck to pick up full bins and deliver empty bins to 650 Forward Dr and 145 E. Badger Ln. The MPS will assist Maintenance Technicians (MT) and Senior Maintenance Technicians (SMT) in general repairs and preventive maintenance of the BioSAFE machine. The MRPS will also be trained to provide support to help maintain building support systems (e.g., equipment including facility related mechanical, electrical, and equipment located within office and laboratory locations.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate facility and safety-related issues that arise from daily operations to the Facilities Management to coordinate with internal customers, property owner and/or outside vendors.
  • Assist the team in managing spare parts for equipment and supplies as needed to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Provide assistance in support of the facility and utility systems including but not limited to electrical distribution, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air systems.
  • Enter, prioritize and complete work orders in a computer database system.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) tasks with proper documentation and closure.
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly building inspections to assess the current operational condition, document findings, and take appropriate follow-up action following applicable procedures.
  • React to loss of electrical power and other utility outages, as well as assist in restoration efforts following weather related events.
  • Monitor and respond to equipment and facility system alarms with the ability to follow proper written procedures.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Recommend changes to equipment to improve safety, performance, and reliability.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, including but not limited to GMP, OSHA, FDA and USDA.
  • Assist SMT to help maintain building infrastructure, systems, and controls to maintain efficient and reliable operation, including the ability to provide proper documentation as required.
  • Assist with technical support of automated infrastructure equipment as required.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with EHS polices regarding contractors.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for approximately 10% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work standing for approximately 75% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 10% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, climb ladders, enter tight spaces requiring awkward postures.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials so as not to endanger oneself or others.
  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 50% of working time away from primary work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
  • Ability to operate a gas or electric powered fork truck, pallet jack and floor cleaner.
  • Ability to drive 26' straight truck between local Exact Sciences locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties.
  • Basic understanding of facility-related systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
  • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
  • No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
  • No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
  • Certification in Maintenance or Factory related area.
  • Experience working in a factory assembly line production, building maintenance, construction, or mechanical repair setting.
  • Experience operating hand tools, small power tools.

Salary Range:
$35,000.00 - $57,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
