Overview

Join Esri's UX Research team to play a pivotal role in driving user experience research for web, events, and marketing. In this position, you'll collaborate with a dynamic group of researchers, designers, strategists, and domain experts to conduct impactful foundational and evaluative research on customer experiences touched by millions of people. Your insights will directly influence how users discover and utilize our cutting-edge geospatial solutions to address some of the world's most complex challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Research Projects: Spearhead both exploratory and evaluative research initiatives, utilizing a diverse array of methodologies to foster innovation and continuous improvement in digital and in-person customer experiences.
  • Work in Partnership: Collaborate closely with digital strategy, marketing, and design leadership to develop and maintain a comprehensive research roadmap that aligns with broader organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Synthesize insights from multiple data sources such as qualitative and quantitative user research, web analytics, and customer satisfaction surveys in order to formulate and address key research questions that drive business impact.
  • Process Improvement: Actively contribute to the refinement of internal research processes, aiming to enhance the rigor, efficiency, and scalability of our efforts. Mentor and train designers and other team members to elevate their research competencies.
  • Inclusive Research Practices: Champion inclusivity in research and design by ensuring that participant recruitment, data collection, and resulting recommendations accurately represent the diverse environments and backgrounds of our users.
  • Share Knowledge: Serve as an advocate and subject matter expert for human-centered design. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing activities as well as external venues such as conferences and publications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading user experience research, with expertise in remote and in-person methodologies, both qualitative and mixed-method
  • In-depth knowledge of the design patterns, usability challenges, and research techniques tailored to websites, events, and marketing
  • Knowledge of B2B audiences and customer journeys involving complex enterprise software
  • Experience recruiting participants from specialized B2B audiences and international customers, and with inclusive recruitment practices
  • Ability to proactively engage with internal experts to inform product understanding and research projects
  • Ability to learn ArcGIS software and understand the field of GIS
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage time effectively, with a strong focus on scoping and managing collaborative research projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of making complex ideas clear and actionable
  • Bachelor's in HCI, information science, anthropology, psychology, sociology or related field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is

$97,344 - $166,608 USD
