Job Summary

We're looking for a strategic People Team leader to lead a team of HR Business Partners, supporting the Technology and Product functions (Chief Technology Officer, Chief Digital Officer, and Chief Business Officer). In this role you will also directly support a C-suite member. This leader is responsible for understanding complex, multifaceted, and multi-regional needs across multiple functions and translating them into people outcomes. The successful candidate will be a member of the Client Services Leadership Team to surface and drive strategic points of alignment against shared business accountabilities and outcomes.

As a strategic people leader, you will lead a team of HR Business Partners to translate business strategy into a holistic talent strategy. You will work closely with People Team leadership to ensure the right blend of enterprise, regional and local market requirements are represented in strategies and plans, along with other People Team colleagues.

Responsibilities

Influence and deliver people strategy to serve business outcomes

  • Strategic partner and trusted advisor to a C-suite leader, accountable to define and execute talent strategies and outcomes that enable the business strategy and outcomes
  • Develop in depth knowledge of the business both strategically and operationally to build consultative partnerships with executive
  • Frame business problems using deep knowledge of the business and the People Team paired with core consulting skills to curate existing solutions or collaborate with the right partners to define solutions iteratively and at speed. Embrace curiosity and new ideas by challenging the status quo to unlock high performance in the business, advocating for new approaches, and taking calculated risks to meet evolving business needs
  • Partner with the business leaders to maximize organizational effectiveness. Leverage expertise in organization design, team development, talent/workforce planning, and change management to maintain a culture that optimizes employee experience and the passion and potential of our employees
  • Lead cross-functional Technology and Product people initiatives to drive for scale and agility of implementation and adoption
  • Transcend enterprise boundaries to bridge silos and drive seamless collaboration across regions/functions, curating the right talent and creating alignment towards execution of an objective with an enterprise first mindset.
  • Inform and implement talent strategies and solutions that support the short- and long-term business strategies and plan
  • Sense and scan internal and external factors to maintain pulse on current state, review trends, and predict future needs. Utilize data to drive strategy setting and decision making. Bring the right people and data together to shape insights and complete root cause diagnostics regarding people, organizational dynamics for the business and translate this insight into sustainable solutions
  • Recognize and effectively balance the client group's interests with the needs of the company, focusing on outcomes vs. outputs and regularly measuring and communicating the value of initiatives

Team Leadership

  • Directly lead a team of HR Business Partners around the globe who provide strategic HR support to various Technology and Product functions, solving business issues through talent solutions
  • Indirectly lead a team of COE representatives (Rewards, Org & Talent, Workforce Data Insights, etc.) dedicated to enabling the talent solutions for the Technology and Product functions, ensuring that all are provided with the appropriate business context to effectively execute on talent plans and orchestrate the delivery of solutions back to the business
  • Demonstrate high aptitude for people leadership including cultural awareness, empathy and motivation techniques
  • Engage, guide, and align all cross-functional People Team stakeholders on perspectives, plans and approach that will better enable achieving Technology and Product function business goals
  • Shape a collaborative, transparent, and commercially focused culture, in partnership with People Team leadership
  • Motivate team around shared vision and value of the People Team Operating Model to drive adoption

Foster "Magic of Equinix" culture

  • Shape and cultivate the company's unique culture and values and integrate into the fabric of the organization
  • "Live" the Equinix values and operating norms to role model and strengthen culture from the top down

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of Human Resources experience with at least 5 years as Global Business Partner in an evolving global technology organization
  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing a client-facing HR team
  • Experience leading organizational design, change management, and organizational effectiveness preferred
  • Excellent ability to source, synthesize and interpret data and context to tell a story and influence decision makers
  • Experience leading a large global organization comprised of multiple global functions through enterprise-wide transformation
  • Experience in HR leadership as a Strategic HR Business Partner, preferably in the technology sector
  • Experience with change management, executing of global HR programs
  • Broad depth of experience across all HR concentrations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a bias towards action and solutions in line with business goals
  • Ability to travel to the operating locations, approximately 20%

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $275,000 to $350,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
