Job Summary

The Platform Observability and Tools Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining observability solutions and automation tools for our platform. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of our platform by monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing its performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement observability solutions to monitor the health, performance, and availability of the platform
  • Develop and maintain automation tools to streamline and improve the efficiency of platform operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement monitoring and alerting strategies
  • Analyze system performance data and identify areas for improvement
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to platform observability and automation tools
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in observability and automation
  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices related to observability and automation
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for critical incidents

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing observability solutions for large-scale platforms
  • 8+ years of experience in programming skills in languages such as Python, Java
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • Experience in leveraging AI/ML models to enhance efficiency in data platforms and improve monitoring capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Certification in relevant technologies
