Senior Manager, Data Center Critical Facilities
Job Summary
Establishes operational objectives, policies, procedures and work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates. Develops, modifies and executes company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect. Accountable for department budget which may be broad and have far reaching impact on the business segment.
Responsibilities
Management
- Manages experienced level professionals and/or may be responsible for subordinate managers
- Manages team to work safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance
- Manages personnel details including salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development
- Leads in project management and incident resolution
Project / Infrastructure Site Management
- Plans, coordinates, approves budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data centers
- Overall site and/or multi-site capacity management
Vendor Management
- Manages the team to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, (KPI's) Key Performance Indicators and (SLA's) Service Level Agreements
Testing
- Ensures correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete
- Takeover of new builds and building infrastructure
- Approves all (MOP) Maintenance Operation Protocol scripts and permits
- Participates as part of the new facility/infrastructure design team
Incident Management
- Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during a complex or severe customer-impacting incident
- Drives root cause analysis and provides a clear direction
- Drives approval for incident resolution
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience or equivalent work experience (12+). Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
