Job Summary
Provides basic technical and systems support under the direction of more senior level Operations Support Engineers, and identifies opportunities for basic process improvements. Assists in development of documentation and training materials.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Operations Support Associate, Data Center Operations (Costing) is to providing costing support for the Sales team to quote to the customers efficiently and accurately, according to company's standards and guidelines. As part of the Costing Team in Singapore, the individual is also responsible for the management of vendors and helps SG Data Center Ops management in delivering business continuity strategy by engaging dual vendor strategy.
Costing Process
- Arrange and attend site surveys
- Get quotes from vendors and perform quotes comparison
- Manage clarification / negotiation process with vendors
- Provide accurate quotes to the sales team
- Costing Evaluation
Review of new product and services
- Review existing vendors and update on pricing and services
- Improve delivery lead-time
- Enhancement of Rate Book and aim to reduce sales drag
Qualifications
- Proficient in Spreadsheet, Word Processing, Powerpoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.
- Able to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Able to write minutes in an I.T. Operation environment
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
- Good Time Management and reporting skills
- Able to plan, execute and manage high volumes of work
- Highly organized, with attention to detail and a dedication to resolving issues
- Embraces change
- Collaborative personality and able to build strong personal relationships
- Calm and effective under pressure. Able to remain professional in high stress situations
- Education and Related Experience
- Diploma to a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical subject
