Director, Global Employee Engagement
Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Director of Global Employee Engagement to lead, inspire, and innovate across our extensive volunteer and employee engagement programs. This role champions the design and execution of strategies that enhance belonging, well-being, and cultural alignment, while also driving measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and employee experience, along with the ability to navigate complexity with empathy and clarity.
Responsibilities
People Management
- Set functional and developmental objectives for immediate team members and their staff
- Provide leadership for a team of 850+ Equinix volunteers and volunteer leaders, fostering collaboration across WeAreEquinix and Equinix Employee Connection Networks (EECNs) globally
- Cultivate an inclusive team environment by demonstrating empathy, providing clarity during times of change and ambiguity, and fostering collaboration
Impact & Measurement
- Define and track key engagement metrics (KPIs) to evaluate the impact of initiatives and programs
- Present data-driven findings and actionable recommendations to leadership, focusing on continuous improvement
Planning
- Lead the global WeAreEquinix (WRE) and EECN strategies to foster belonging, well-being, and alignment with enterprise goals
- Provide input into strategic planning for regional and local WRE/EECN employee engagement initiatives
- Secure annual program budgets and oversee cross-functional initiatives for measurable business impact
- Partner with HR Strategy and Data teams to evolve the narrative on employee engagement and its contribution to retention
- Collaborate with HR Regional and Functional Leaders to identify engagement challenges and prioritize areas for improvement
- Showcase engagement channels as accelerators for adopting transformative initiatives and navigating change
- Develop and execute a global volunteer recognition program and pilot initiatives aligned with talent strategies, such as career advocacy programs
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with key stakeholders across DIB, Community Impact, Well-being, Sustainability, Corporate Real Estate, Business Operations, HR, and more
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal global stakeholders to enable local employee leadership
- Act as the global liaison for employee engagement, collaborating across business departments
- Participate in program governance to align and drive synergies across Community & Belonging programs
- Collaborate with WRE and EECN global, regional, and local executive sponsors to ensure program success and continuous improvement
Communications & Listening Strategy
- Design and execute a storytelling strategy that highlights the impact of local and regional teams, amplifying awareness through diverse communication channels
- Challenge and guide the team to strike the right balance in communication volume, frequency, and content
- Coach leaders to implement listening strategies through WRE and EECNs to build trust and foster community engagement
Program Delivery
- Develop and deliver Equinix's global volunteer value proposition
- Oversee the delivery of companywide strategic programs, ensuring alignment with volunteer and engagement goals
- Address volunteer challenges promptly and effectively, ensuring programs enhance belonging and purpose
- Provide guidance on global employee engagement tools and platforms (e.g., Hub site, calendar, Yammer, social media)
- Integrate engagement programs into onboarding processes globally, regionally, and locally
Risk Management
- Serve as the escalation point for complex issues within the team
- Encourage lateral thinking and thorough analysis to achieve resolutions
- Refer and escalate issues outside the team as needed

Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong emphasis on employee engagement, strategic planning, and program delivery
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Expertise in data-driven decision-making, stakeholder management, and communications strategy
