Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and supporting initiatives relative to the evaluation, processing, and handling of claims for the organization. Senior Claim Advocate will be responsible for the implementation of service plans for large commercial accounts.
This is a hybrid position working out of the Carmel office 3 days a week.
Critical Job Functions:
• Acts as a liaison between the organization, its insurance provider and agents, claimants, and policy holders regarding the status and eligibility for coverage for all relevant claims
• Receives and processes information for first report of claim from insured, either by phone or email
• Gathers information from insured/claimant, and analyzes coverage and discusses reporting to carrier or retaining loss options
• Processes claim with carrier or assists insured with gathering data required by company to settle a claim
• Informs insured about his duties and responsibilities as well as advises insured of company’s procedures and acknowledges all claims in writing
• Maintains proper claim file documentation including claim notes, correspondence, faxes and emails in Sagitta and Image Right
• Reviews and researches questionable coverage decisions and reports all claims denials to management and/or the account’s producer
• Supports and implements strategies that help achieve corporate goals; makes recommendations on claims policy and procedures and drives claims initiatives
• Conducts claim reviews as required by service plan on accounts in excess of $50,000 revenue
• Identifies and analyzes claims trends and loss sources for largest clients and develops, discusses, and submits meaningful recommendations to reduce policyholder loss exposure
• Attends and assists Producers with new business sales presentations
• Intervenes on largest claims and losses and acts as liaison between the client and company to ensure smooth processing
• Builds and maintains productive relationships with key claims personnel at insurance carriers
• Attends internal pre-renewal meetings to explain the claims history of the large commercial client regarding amounts, trends, loss sources, problems and proposed solutions
• Analyzes loss trends, recognizes opportunities to provide risk control products and/or services which can help reduce losses. Explains how recommendations or products can help clients minimize losses
• Maintains current knowledge of regulatory environment and emerging safety issues
• Assumes ownership of client concerns and feedback until a resolution is successfully accomplished
• Maintains timely, relevant communications with the Producers and Management
• Complies with all internal procedures and practices while demonstrating the ability to meet service performance and quality standards
• Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree preferred
• Insurance designations preferred
• Minimum five (5) years insurance/claim experience
• Strong understanding of all Property & Casualty lines of coverage
• Strong understanding of Commercial Lines insurance products and Risk Control performance standards
• Excellent customer service skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Articulate, well organized and proficient at multi-tasking
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Valid drivers license required
COMPENSATION:
The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
