We are actively seeking a Chief Java Developer to join our remote workforce and collaborate with one of the top healthcare service providers in the US. You will lead a team dedicated to technical precision and collective responsibility for project outcomes in this crucial role. You'll drive strategic projects and promote a culture of ongoing enhancement and creative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee client interactions to sustain and foster positive, cooperative relationships while resolving conflicts efficiently
  • Direct the planning and execution of sophisticated technology systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical specifications
  • Clearly define business goals that match technical plans and work within an agile methodology
  • Participate in all aspects of application development, including user interface, API, backend logic, data storage, and infrastructure
  • Encourage team ownership and accountability for all tasks and projects
  • Facilitate effective communication across all team levels, proactively addressing any issues
  • Detect code anomalies and work alongside developers to improve product quality
  • Address and rectify performance issues in existing code with the help of automation tools
  • Lead the adoption of automation practices in the development process, integrating CI/CD tools for seamless validation and deciding judiciously on automation opportunities

  • Holds a university degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in development
  • At least 2 years in a leadership and team management role
  • Involvement in at least two full-cycle projects or various projects covering different development lifecycle phases
  • Highly skilled in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Angular, and the client's technical stack
  • Profound experience with AWS to boost service scalability and performance
  • Skilled in using Apache Kafka for crafting real-time data processing systems
  • Ability to implement effective unit testing frameworks using JUnit
  • Proficient in Typescript for building scalable and robust applications
  • Mastery of database management, including schema design, optimization, and complex SQL query formulation on Oracle DB
  • Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies, with a capability to lead projects flexibly and devise optimal solutions
  • Extensive acquaintance with Design Patterns and the latest architectural trends
  • Fluent in English with proficient communication skills at a B2 level or higher
Nice to have
  • Experience with Microservices, Enterprise Integration Patterns, and Messaging systems such as JMS, AMQ, or WMQ
  • Knowledge of MongoDB or Hadoop
  • Experience in managing teams across multiple locations
  • Knowledge of the SAFe delivery model
  • Insight into the healthcare insurance industry
  • Familiarity with Business Driven Development (BDD) or Specification by Example approaches
